Summer is Super mini sessions {portrait photography}

 In January I spent the morning in Yarraville and the afternoon at the Carlton Gardens photographing the Summer is Super mini portraiture sessions which were 15 minutes each.  It was a great day, crazy busy, but great!  I absolutely loved being able to take photographs for an entire day (a rarity since I'm a mum),  met so many lovely people and gorgeous kids, exhausted myself silly being.. silly to get giggles out of the little ones and finished off with an impromptu Polaroid series which was a perfect way to end the day, pics to come soon.

I'm thrilled with the results and so are the clients which makes the experience all the more satisfying, here are some of their kind words;
'They are so gorgeous and I can't wait to have them hanging on our wall..'
'Photos are absolutely stunning! Thank you, we love them.'
'Wow!! You are amazing.. we love the photos... I have been looking at them all day!'
'Thanks again - they are gorgeous photos, you are very talented... and it was such an easy session too.'

The mini sessions were definitely a success!  They were nice and quick for the kids, it was a good reminder for me that you can accomplish a lot in a short amount of time and get great results.  Due to the success of Summer is Super I am now offering Quick Sticks, a ten minute portraiture session, as part of my portraiture menu.  To request a price list please click here or feel free to give me a buzz on 0407 802 640.

Thank you to everyone who came along for the Summer is Super mini sessions, I had a ball and I hope you did too! x

Dodging Raindrops {portrait photography melbourne}

Thanks Ilona.  They are brilliant.  We are very happy!

These are a few of my favourite photographs of this gorgeous family with the infectious smiles!

Illy Photography recently donated a portrait session for the fundraiser at my son's child care centre and I was thrilled to work with this lovely family.  We had cancelled the session the week before as it was bucketing rain and SO dark, unfortunately we were met with rain again the following weekend but this time there was beautiful light outside.  So off we went to the Williamstown waterfront and luckily there was a break in the rain, thank the weather gods!

If you're interested in an Illy Photography portraiture session please view more examples of my work and request a price list.  You can always buzz me on 0407 802 640 for a chat as well.

storm light, storm bright

As the storm was rolling towards us the clouds above turned black but there was still bright blue sky to the right.  It was such beautiful lighting.  I knew it would pass as quick as it arrived so I grabbed my camera, asked my boy to come outside and managed a few frames before it started bucketing down.  I wonder if I'll ever see such light again?  Fingers crossed.

Update - The 365 Project

Check out The 365 Project page!  I've updated it today with another 17 days of photographs.  17 weeks down and only 35 to go..

I'm really enjoying the project so far, obviously there has been ebbs and flows - like when I woke up at midnight and realised I hadn't taken a shot that day!  See if you can work out which one that was :)

Autumn Sun

I miss what we had of summer,
but lucky for me we have gorgeous autumn days like this to play in the park..
